Tales of Hetalia-Austria

The Magic Flute is an (extremely convoluted and hard to summarize) opera by Mozart. It was one of the first stories I thought to do when I conceived this whole series, since the main character plays an instrument and his sidekick has a thing for birds. But, naturally, I had to tweak some stuff. The original story referenced a lot of Ancient Egyptian culture, but it was really out of place and unnecessary (probably just used for exotic mystique or whatever). So I cut most of that out, except for the pyramid shape of the temple in the last panel. I also toned down some of the other controversial themes of the original (it has a lot of Masonic elements, so make of that what you will).

As far as the art goes, I had a lot of fun with this since Austria is, design-wise, one of my favorite characters in Hetalia. He's just so handsome. Although, Prussia actually shows up in more panels, haha. The outfits in this story are a bit more costumey to keep with the opera inspiration. Hope you guys like it.
